Sable as the thickening light
Golden as Truth -

Silent you called:

With a smile among the thorns and sand;
Lost like vague illusions stripped
But freedom's veil lay torn and ripped
In homage to your chains.

You bound yourself in mystery
For all to see the sanctity
And fly ---
You spoke in tones that slipped the ear

The sentence - essence.

We shone like sparks struck;
Called to the feel of the dove,
