Implosion

A river wound careless, as changeless as time
And lonely, an old man cast dreams at the stars
An opening flower that smouldered like flame
The song of a seagull fell distant and sparse
The cards in his hands - he knew what must pass.....

A cloud hung in silence, anointed a mountain
As a wandering youth whistled aims, singing prayers
He stared for a moment as the mountain was choked
And searched for the meaning as the land gasped for air
The answer was simple, he had to prepare.....

A few people waited but nothing appeared
The seers were silent, smug cynics sneered
But in their derision they filed to see
The park in the heavens, the glow in the sea.

And deep within the hearts of men
Within the swirling waves
Within the granite cliffs
Within the concrete caves
Of man's earthy, poisoned slave
The seed had been sowed.......
A sun had exploded in their souls
Shockwaves splintered - caustic
Cutting to the nerve
Sharp and abrasive
Stinging and corrosive
To die to learn to live
Molten pain.......
A sun has exploded in our souls
Our souls have imploded in the sun........
