It is so cold here; so very dark and cold here
Where blood and death share lies between them
And tears defy the light.

Here is the end; where the dust lies thick with worms
Pain has gone as darkness shuffles
Through lonely, absolute night.......

No air, no breath; we gasp for sweetness
That once had filled our lungs:
A cool, clear blast of living freshness
But still the foetid vacuum hung inside this place
As it has always done - and the stench of death
Is our only breath........

But wait; a shaft of silence
cries "Light!" into the void;
A glint, a gleam - a glow!
There is light appearing here;
Warmth exploding fear. Something is happening here.
